Almost 55,000 families have currently been impacted by the storms, with their possessions and dwellings ruined.

Persistent precipitation over the recent period have worsened the already dire circumstances of the vast number of displaced residents in the Gaza Strip, as stated by relief groups.

"Horrendous" Conditions Brings Serious Threats

A official characterized the recent storm as "horrendous", with downpours so intense that as much as 15cm (6in) of water gathered on the terrain.

"Last night was truly difficult for the residents. The downpours were so strong... And the gales were so powerful," stated the representative.

Authorities voice grave anxiety that minors sheltering in makeshift shelters in wet garments will fall victim to hypothermia and other ailments.

Deaths and Widespread Loss

Medical officials have reported that one baby has died from hypothermia and no fewer than 11 other people have died in structural failures triggered by the harsh conditions.

Further statements suggest a greater fatality count. Spokespeople said that numerous residential buildings had collapsed completely and dozens had collapsed partially.

  • Roughly 55,000 families impacted by the weather.
  • More than 40 designated shelters severely flooded.
  • Many people compelled to relocate again.

Relief Efforts Deemed Inadequate

Organizations have stepped up distribution of tarpaulins, warm covers and clothes after the halt in hostilities started, but they stress there is still not enough aid getting in.

"Agencies are operating tirelessly to deliver that relief and to distribute it, but the scale of the needs is so immense that we still have many thousands of individuals and children who are genuinely suffering each evening," warned one representative.

Ongoing Issues and Ceasefire Plans

The second phase of the agreement involves arrangements for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with political arrangements, the withdrawal of military forces, and other conditions.

Humanitarian organizations have stressed the need for "expanded and ongoing relief to meet urgent and ongoing requirements."

The war was initiated by an attack in the autumn of 2023. Subsequent campaigns have led to a significant number of fatalities in the territory, based on official reports.
