The January transfer market proves to be a period of feverish rumour and potential major moves. Several prominent players are being linked with moves out of their current teams. Here is a look at some of the major names that are poised to be changing clubs this month.

Antoine Semenyo

Although Ghana's inability to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations, which has left the player in contention, indications are a major transfer is imminent. The Bournemouth attacker has a deal with a £65 million buy-out clause active for a brief period at the start of the month. Latest developments point to Manchester City have emerged as his signature. Other interested parties like Tottenham and Chelsea reportedly have moved on to alternative options, leaving clubs like Manchester United or Liverpool to attempt a late bid.

M. Guéhi

The England defender has continued to excel for Palace this season a previous move to Anfield falling through. As his deal set to expire in the summer, January is the club's final chance to secure a fee for their skipper. Numerous top clubs, including City and multiple continental powerhouses like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, are believed to be interested. Yet, a January departure remains difficult, particularly given the manager's dependence on the player.

B. Johnson

This Welsh forward has found starting minutes hard to come by at Tottenham this term. Although finishing as the club's top scorer the previous campaign, he has started just a small number of league matches. It is understood the London club would be open to a transfer for the right valuation, thought to be in the region of forty million pounds. Bournemouth appear to be leading the chase, with Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Brentford also showing an inquiry.

R. Neves

The Portuguese midfielder could be poised for a comeback to the Premier League after a period in Saudi Arabia. Now just twenty-eight, while his contract expiring in the summer of 2026, he is a potential opportunity. Teams such as Manchester United and Liverpool have been linked with the former Wolves man. Furthermore, there have been suggestions from Spanish media that he is prepared to take a pay cut for a move to the Spanish giants.

Marc-André ter Stegen

This veteran German shot-stopper finds himself as the third option at Barça following the coach Hansi Flick. After fallen out of favour and had surgery, a winter departure seems increasingly probable. Villa were once mentioned as a possible suitor, but that move currently seems unlikely. Instead, interest from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are thought to be showing curiosity in the keeper.

I. Toney

The prolific English centre-forward has continued scoring regularly in the Middle East. Coming back to the Premier League could boost his dwindling hopes of being in the England World Cup. But, securing a deal poses significant hurdles. His current club are reluctant to part with him, and his reported huge salary render any agreement complicated. The Turin club are desperate to tie down the 20-year-old to a lengthy contract but are in a race to retain one of Europe's brightest young talents.

K. Smit

This highly-touted Dutch teenage midfielder has earned comparisons to a Belgian superstar for his playing style. After impressing at the Under-19 European Championship, Smit has become a regular in the AZ first team. The teenager is heavily tipped to make a major transfer this month. Newcastle United reportedly are leading the chase, but could face stiff competition from the Spanish champions for a deal valued at approximately £22 million.
