Hulu is Producing a Far Cry TV Series from the Producers of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest action-packed game that players explored was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito as the villain, Antón, and was released back in October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for delighting in chaos and mayhem with similar enthusiasm, all while telling engaging, politically driven tales. Little surprise that the network’s recent announcement for a Far Cry anthology series brought on board two visionaries whose work have exemplified all of those elements.

About the Series

Based on Ubisoft's popular video game property, the limited anthology series will be available on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The show will also parallel the video games' format by featuring a different setting and ensemble in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series under their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we do not know what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently renewed for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new long-term contract with the producer.

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most renowned video-game realms ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners always encourages me with their ongoing confidence and assistance.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an anthology-style program. Each game is a interpretation of a theme, the same way every series of Fargo is a version on a story,” said Hawley. “To produce a epic action show that can shift from one instalment to the next, while always delving into the nature of people through this complex and unpredictable lens, is a ultimate goal. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and present our shared unconventional, ambitious approach to the television.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
